SeisGram2K

The data i am currently exploring has been accessed through Orfeus and i am using a piece of software that i have no knowledge of. My progress currently is through trial and error manipulating the data through SeisGram2K and finding out how the different functions can aid my dissertation. I am currently looking at data from the 4th of June 2007 exploring the Period of the seismic waves in an attempt to better understand it so that i can compare it with ocean wave data. I am currently in the process of getting access to ocean wave data from around the Scottish coast in order to compare the two wave characteristics. Matching ocean waves of half the period of the seismic waves from the same region and time to explore the link between the two around Scotland.

Preface

I intend on using is blog as a way of documenting and exploring the research I will be coming across as I begin the road towards my dissertation. I am currently a second going into third year BSC geography student at kings college London with a real interest in earthquakes and I hope to one day be working towards research to mitigate the disastrous impacts of modern day tectonic disasters. Posts to be expected are those revolving specifically around my dissertation topic : "wave induced changes to the microseismicity of the Scottish coast" as we'll as my views and interest in current news on seismic activity and research.
